In a city known for its vibrant culture and growing craft beer scene, Braumeister Brewing Co. stands out as a beacon of tradition, quality, and community. Inspired by the timeless beer gardens of Austria and rooted in the heart of Ottawa, Braumeister offers a unique experience for beer lovers seeking more than just a pint.

In 2018, Braumeister Brewing Co. opened its doors as a father-and-son-owned brewery, bringing Bavarian tradition to the Nation’s Capital, and in 2021 the brewery expanded with a second location in Hintonburg - Braumeister Bierhalle at 175 Carruthers Ave. A spacious Bierhalle and restaurant that seats 100 indoors and over 80 on the patio. With a European kitchen complementing the beer selection, it’s a destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Bavaria.

Braumeister has brewed over 30 distinct styles, each crafted with only the four essential ingredients: water, yeast, malt, and hops. All beers are naturally carbonated, and the brewery prides itself on traditional brewing practices—no additives, no shortcuts. With new recipes constantly being added to the portfolio, there is guaranteed to be a style for every beer drinker out there!

As everyone settles into our new normal, Braumeister has made the importance of socializing a focus at both of their locations. With events such as sausage making workshops, trivia nights, live music, murder mysteries, and the incredibly popular pups n' pints days, Braumeister is aiming to offer a variety of affordable fun evenings out in both Carleton Place and Ottawa.

These events aren't limited to their locations as well. The Carleton Place Beer Festival is being hosted by Braumeister Brewery for the 2nd annual year on June 19, 2026 (www.braumeister.ca). This event brings together a dozen breweries and distilleries from across the entire Greater Ottawa Region with alcohol manufacturer's coming from Arnprior to Orleans. With live music, food trucks, and even a night market with local artisan craft vendors to add to the festivities, the aim for Braumeister is to highlight the wonderful industry of craft beverages around Ottawa.

Along with hosting an evening of entertainment, Braumeister also makes it a point to assist with charitable causes in everything they do. For example, the Beer Festival will have a dunk tank that aims to raise money for the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation this year.

Charitable causes are important to the owners and Braumeister has been able to donate and raise money for numerous charities in the almost 8 years they've been in business. One of the most successful events was a charity bike ride between their two locations (~50km along the Trans Canada Trail) and the next iteration of this ride is coming back this summer. For all information of upcoming events please check out www.braumeister.ca and on their social media pages.

Since opening their doors in 2018, Braumeister has already experienced a lifetime of stories. As the brewery moves towards a decade of being open look for the Brewery and Bierhalle to continue to grow and evolve with fresh ideas, new recipes, and a lot more social events, all built off of the same great quality and high traditional standards they have had since day one.
