Ottawa's restaurants have every type of Korean food you need. Here are our favourites
Ottawa has quietly become a haven delicious Korean food, whether it’s Korean BBQ, bulgogi or fine dining, the city has every type you can imagine.
Here are our top places we’ve reviewed here at the Lookout
Kitchen Maroo
Kitchen Maroo: 281 Kent St.
Months after moving into their new space on Kent St. owners Yuchang and Lindsay unveiled a few new dishes that impressed mightily. You may be hard-pressed to find better Korean beef ribs in Ottawa.
Table Sodam

Table Sodam: 1200 Bank St.
The on-and-off openings/closures during the pandemic were particularly hard on those fans of Table Sodam. Their food represents fine Korean comfort cooking. It’s from scratch, delicious, plentiful and fairly priced.
K, Let’s Eat
Sweet chili chicken. Ralf Joneikies/Ottawa Lookout
K, Let’s Eat: 449 Preston St.
This eatery arrived just in time to capitalize on the surging popularity of Korean fried chicken. They make a tasty enough bird, but throw in the addition of chewy rice cake carb covered in a delicious sauce, and you’re off to heavenly sleep time.
In’s Kitchen
Suntofu with Seafood. Ralf Joneikies/Ottawa Lookout
In’s Kitchen: 1 Templeton St.
The family behind In’s Kitchen transplanted from Kingston and opened their restaurant closer to where their son was studying at the University of Ottawa. As with much Korean food in Ottawa, this is classic homecooking and it fills the hole in your soul.
Pelicana Korean Chicken
Pelicana garlic chicken and sides. Ralf Joneikies/Ottawa Lookout
Pelicana Korean Chicken: 1508 Merivale Rd. (Inside OK Mart)
There’s plenty of good Korean fried chicken in Ottawa but when a chain makes it as well (and often better) than the independents, it’s time to take notice. Go and enjoy some of the best fried birds in Ottawa.
