July 4th at the Ambassador's

It was another beautiful Independence Day Celebration for our American cousins and the large crowd assembled was shedding calories as quickly as they could be taken in.

It was one of the hottest days on record but the organizing team had thought of everything and there were large outdoor fans stationed throughout the grounds of the ambassador's residence.

One of the newest food vendors was the Haitian J’TM, from the ByWard Market, which stood out for me because it produced a rack of lamb chop that was a delicious and supremely tender highlight. I plan on making a visit to this resto-bar in the near future.

There was a lot to enjoy and the crowd grazed happily on more than two dozen food options that included treats from local businesses such as Bite Burger, The King Eddy and Merry Dairy.

Pat’s King of Steak was back from Philadelphia offering locals a taste of this American classic. It was a resounding success as they appeared close to running out of food.

I stopped by the Whalesbone oyster bar to get my fill and I didn’t envy all the food prep teams that were putting in all that sweat equity in that heat.
