We were on our way to Tiffany’s Pizza (984, rue Notre-Dame) in Embrun and the drive had become harrowing. There was little visibility, and then our phones exploded with urgent alarms warning of a tornado. Given the circumstances, the alarm was so startling that it almost created its own dangerous situation.
When we arrived, the rain had been coming down like rebar. We sat for a time and once it abated, went in to place our orders.
I first wrote about Tiffany’s four years ago (hard to believe it’s been that long) and I’m pleased to note that the only thing that’s changed is their address. Same street, just a few doors over.

As in the past, they proudly proclaim that they make their dough and sauce fresh every day. The proof is in the eating.
There’s a freshness here that makes it stand out. As good as the pizza was at C&C, just an hour earlier, the sauce at C&C couldn’t quite compete with the brightness that Tiffany’s brought.
My go-to is Tiffany's Special (green olives, pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, green peppers), and I ask them to swap out the green peppers for onions. The bacon used is better than average and has a natural wood-smoke quality.
The crust is not Neapolitan-thin but thin enough to appeal to the likes of me. It’s also tasty enough that I find myself eating the crust rim which is rare.
I will always prefer Italian-style pizzas, but when it comes to our local style, Tiffany’s is hard to beat.
